Much like the technology required to create 99.9% of the music most people hear in their day to day lives, other people are required to breathe life into any musical idea.

The term 'trustless' is banded around in the BTC space a lot.

This makes me think of the hilarious term 'solo artist'.

When someone claims to be a solo artist, they usually do so whilst holding a guitar made by a number of luthiers, speaking into a microphone crafted by specialists based on years of research done by all those before them in a studio carefully designed by a team of people.

This is to say nothing of the additional steps and humans it takes to manufacture the various methods of distrubution that allow us to hear their output no matter where or when we are...

As guitarists, we have a seemingly endless offering of technological wonders fighting for our attention. This has been the case since the first guitar note was amplified.

From Les Paul & Mary Ford tinkering around with multi track recording to the ability to record infinite takes of yourself in the illusory search for perfection technology has been the enabler.

If you are unfamiliar with Les Paul & Mary Ford, please take the time to track down some of their records. I wrote a little about having my mind blown by the couple here.

Since then, technology such as the internet and the smartphone, have enabled massive changes in distribution.

As with all technologies, these things start off pretty expensive and then, when the naturally deflationary nature of technology is allowed to run its course, the price adjusts as a reflection of how much we value the idea - Take the Eventide Harmonizer as an example. When it first came out, it sold for around $1600 ($9,500 in today's money BH:84116). Now the company's H6 pedal can do a similar job and more, for a fraction of the price (£650).
